I posted this to my own blog but wanted to share it here, as well. Because yeah, I do agree with the assertion that #4 is true. That, yes, you do fall in love with your baby. It's such a warm, wonderful, cuddly time. I can recall, with Victoria, my second baby, that those first few minutes of feeling her feeding were such joy for me. I'd had to have a Cesarean operation, and was lying, flat on a gurney. One of the best decisions I think I've even made was to have a dear friend who was a doula (Ginette Bertrand) be there. She gave the baby sips of formula right after her birth, when they said she needed supplementing. She also was right there, holding the baby for me, as Victoria fed. I recall having tears of joy, and happiness, and just feeling that "pleasure" feeling as she fed. Mind you, we ended up having real issues with Victoria and her suck pattern, but that's another story.
And my goodness, who here doesn't agree with #5? :P Warm feet, via a foot massage with peppermint foot cream from the Body Shop. *grins at the memory* How I got Tim to give me comfort while pregnant. Yeah! And the nice thing about it, is that it's a way of you both loosening up. It usually leads to something nicer ;)
And wow, yes, at #6. That giddy "OMG I want to kiss him all night long!" definitely fades away. But it's no less the feeling of "love" meaning that in the Greek term of Eros: passionate, caring, sensual love of all the senses. It's just a less intense feeling, but that returns when he kisses you and makes your knees shake (or whatever).

That is a VERY neat article! I'm going to forward it to my husband. I did know some of this stuff, but a lot of it was completely new. Just goes to show you learn something (or many things) every day. Thanks Deb :)
