There have been a couple of times when I've been out and about in the city and needed to give the baby a bottle. Starbucks ~ from here on out referred to Fourbucks ~ seems like a natural place to stop. Not only can I enjoy a latte but they have comfortable arm chairs and a nice atmosphere.
But I wish that I could extol the virtues of Fourbucks customers as much as I can rave about their coffee. There have been a couple of occasions when a rather frazzled and loaded down version of me has staggered into Fourbucks looking for a comfortable chair (or sometimes just any chair) in which to feed my baby.
The first time it happened to me I couldn't even find a straight-backed chair let alone an armchair. I found myself perched on the nonsupporting, cold fireplace in between 4 grownups comfortably seated in their armchairs.
Should I assume that none of these people have had children? Maybe that's why they don't know that having an armrest whilst feeding or nursing greatly improves the experience?
Suffice it to say I was annoyed. I sincerely hope I never forget how difficult it is to tote a baby anywhere. I pledge that if I'm ever enjoying my armchair at Fourbucks and a harried Mom with baby in tow is looking around desperately, I shall graciously give up my chair.

Yeah, for sure you deserve to rant. That's sad. Sometimes you wonder where the label of "nice" went towards our fellow Ottawans huh? I mean, people always rave how "nice" Canadians are. Um, no, not true, at times :P
When I was pregnant with Aerik and taking the bus at the Rideau Center, the only woman who made room for me in courtesy seating was expecting twins. None of the able-bodied people bothered to move for this very-pregnant version of me. That's the way the world is these days. What ever happened to courtesy? I would have given my seat up to you and the baby in a heartbeat.
