I'm so thankful for breadmakers

Man, I am so thankful I have a breadmaker today. Makes it darn easy to get a loaf going, and then forget about it! I just don't want to go out driving in that mess of water, snow and wind. Ugh!

I hear you! We only bake our own bread since getting one this fall. No preservatives, low sugar, low fat, whole grain goodness. You can't buy anything this good - or tasty! - in a store.

We do still buy bagels, though. Have you ever tried to make bagels. It's just slightly more complicated than I care for.

We got a breadmaker for a wedding present. 3 and a half years later it still sits in the box. Should I get it out do you think?

Haha, yes you should SkyGirl! It's awesome. A really, really easy, good recipe is the white bread on the side of the Robin Hood "Best for Bread" flour. Your bread machine will have a few as well. Try making a cheese loaf. You will fall in love with that machine, believe me!

The only thing that I find I have to do is just check the dough consistency about 5 mins after it's started kneading. If it's too dry, it's not good, and you need to add about a tablespoon of water. You want it to feel like a silky smooth babys bottom LOL! Not rough, lumpy dry, and obviously don't want it too wet!
